Recovery Through Contribution

Using small acts of impact as a path to healing from addiction

Recovery isn’t only about overcoming addiction, but about rebuilding a sense of identity, self-worth, and meaning. While many programs understandably focus on support and stability, this project explores what happens when people in recovery are also given the chance to contribute.

The idea is to integrate small, personalized social impact projects into the recovery process. These projects draw on each person’s strengths, experiences, and perspective, offering them a way to help others, reinforce their own healing, and gain a new sense of direction.

Examples might include:

  • Putting together a photography exhibit that tells a story of resilience

  • Leading free music workshops as a form of creative expression and connection

  • Teaching journaling practices that supported their own recovery journey

I’ll bring the framework, tools, and behavioral science behind why this works. You’ll help build a version that can scale, whether through structured programs, partnerships, or direct work with recovery organizations.

If you care about recovery, purpose, and creating new pathways to healing, I’d love to hear from you.
