Hello!
You clicked on the About page. I often go there first myself, to get a sense of the person, or people, behind the work. It’s also a great example of how deeply social we are at our core. In fact, one of the most underused forces for good in the world draws from just that: not only are we social, but we’re prosocial. We want to help others. We want to make a difference. And yet so many of our systems, our schools, workplaces, even our social programs, treat that drive as an afterthought. That is a massive oversight, and missed opportunity, both for how we feel as individuals, and also for how we function as a society. That, in a nutshell, is the gist of what my work is about.
Evie Rosset, PhD
My background
I’ve spent the past 20+ years exploring how to tap into the better sides of human nature, our drive to learn, to connect with others, to contribute to the greater good (all the good stuff!). I started in cognitive science, but now I'd say my work is at the intersection of the fields of behavioral science, positive psychology, and social impact. I’ve been teaching and doing research in the US (where I’m from), the UK, and France (where I live), focusing on motivation, social connection, and wellbeing. I also co-founded Maac Lab (www.maac-lab.com), a nonprofit that helps people, especially those in vulnerable situations, feel impactful through small, personalized social projects. This has been done mostly in France and often in collaboration with social workers, educators, and coaches.
Rethinking Impact
We know what works. When opportunities to contribute are easy, personalized, and emotionally rewarding, people show up—and keep showing up. This site is part of a broader experiment to build a more energizing, accessible, and sustainable way to engage in social impact. I’d love your input. Connecting with others, even strangers (especially strangers!), is one of life’s great energizers. So feel free to reach out and tell me who you are and what you’re working on. Thanks for being here.
